The Proscan 2200 is a leading-edge non-contact surface measurement system that can measure practically any flat surface in two or three dimensions. It uses a patented chromatic confocal sensor or optional laser triangulation sensors to achieve high accuracy. With a measurement rate of up to 1,000 data points per second, Proscan 2200 can measure areas up to 150mm x 100mm, including polished or transparent surfaces with resolutions as high as 0.036μm.

The Proscan software package includes a range of ISO analytical tools that can be used for analysing surface form, finish, and feature geometry, along with area and volume-based measurements. Note:

The sensor naming convention is generally as follows:

First letter – S stands for Spectral (sometimes called chromatic or white light sensor)

First letter – L stands for Laser triangulation sensor

First number – i.e. 3, represents the distance from the target (stand off) in mm that the sensor needs to be at in order to take measurements

Second number – i.e. 015, is the measuring range in mm of the sensor

Hence, an S3/015 sensor is a spectral type sensor with a 3mm stand off and a 150 micron measuring range.

The Proscan 2200 is a state-of-the-art profilometry system based on more than three decades of expertise. We make regular upgrades to the Proscan 2200 system and its software, guided by our client’s needs and industry knowledge.
